Home from Nationals in Albuquerque.  I had a great time at the meet. I did fairly well. I ran 59.36 in the 400 meters (which bests my PR time for an indoor 400--I ran 59.37 last year at indoor Worlds). I took the silver medal in the race. And, I am the new National Champ in the indoor 800 meters--I got the gold in 2:25.33, which is NOT a PR (I ran 2:23 indoors in January up in Ithaca. But, given the 5,300 feet of elevation in Albuquerque, I think I did okay). Could I have run a better race? Yes--I went out way too slow and I should have pushed up further in the pack sooner. Luckily I had a kick left, and my last 200 meter lap was a negative split. My 200 splits were: 38.32, 36.49, 36.73, 33.80. But really, my lack of experience in this event kind of shows in these split times. Also, I had altitude worries in my head, which was probably a dumb thing to focus on. It is a really tough event that requires a lot more thinking and pacing and strategy as opposed to the 400 (for me, anyway).

I also ran a leg in the 4x200 meter relay, M60. We got the bronze. On the last day, I ran a leg in the M35 relay, and we got the gold. It was fun running against the youngsters!

Top of the podium! Legend Rick Lee took bronze (at 64!) and Chris Yorges (60) got silver (he was just barely a half second behind me at the finish line). Fun race!

My racing singlet and Silver medal from the 400
