I haven't updated this blog in a couple of weeks. My knees healed completely at the beginning of the month . . . that's good . . . whatever THAT was! I haven't been on the track yet this month, as a couple of weekends in NYC made Sunday track practice impossible, and I opted for outdoor runs along the river instead of the Franklin Field Track. I have been having GREAT Pilates reformer sessions in the studio the past couple of weeks, and I've been pretty consistent with my daily mat routine. I have been doing my PT leg exercises three times a week, plus doing regular weighted leg exercises at the gym. My legs are feeling stronger and more well-rounded in terms of development. My hammy feels much better overall; I could barely feel or sense it during the outdoor runs (which have been 3-5 miles . . . best day was yesterday, when I did 3 miles together at a 9 minute average [two of them were under 9 minutes)]). I've had two consecutive Fridays of acupuncture on my legs as well as cupping. I go again next Friday. It seems to be helping. I am coming up on four months since I last re-injured my hammy. In the spring I had three months of recovery before I re-injured in at my first meet in New Jersey. So I am hoping time is on my side, and that I can keep from re-injuring it again the longer it heals (hopefully, completely).

I spent some time today updating my calendar with the indoor season's track meets in January, February, and March. I hope to race on an indoor track in January or early February to see what it's like . . . and if I can be competitive, I will probably go to the USATF Masters Indoor Championships in Gainsville, Florida, toward the end of February.  The outdoor championships in July, 2025, have been announced--Huntsville, Alabama (not very convenient from Minnesota, where I'm sure I'll be in July. But . . . whatever). We'll see.  Also, I applied today to get a season pass to use the new Ott Center track at Penn from December through March. It will be open 11:00am-2:00 pm, M-F. I'll be at track practice on Sunday, and hopefully next week I can have two workouts at Franklin Field. Now my hammy is feeling better, I am looking forward to real training on the track!
